Comments: U2 and Green Day perform a short set together at the reopening of the Superdome. Edge performs "Wake Me Up When September Ends" with Green Day. Billie Joe Armstrong sings a bit of "The House Of The Rising Sun" while Edge and Green Day play the opening bars of "The Saints Are Coming." Bono and the res of U2 join in for that song, and then both bands play an abbreviated version of "Beautiful Day."

The performance is broadcast on ESPN prior to a Monday Night Football game between the Atlanta Falcons and New Orleans Saints. It's the first football game at the Superdome since Hurricane Katrina, and proceeds from Internet downloads of the performance are earmarked for the Music Rising program.
