Comments: U2 opens the Live 8 concert before flying to Vienna to resume the Vertigo Tour later in the evening. They open the show with Paul McCartney doing "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band." White doves are released into the air during "Beautiful Day." Before "One," Bono calls on the G8 leaders to "make history by making poverty history." The video footage of African flags usually used for "Where The Streets Have No Name" is used during "One," which includes the "Hear us coming Lord" coda. Bono ends "Unchained Melody" by singing "God, speed your love to Africa."
