"I'm not sure . . . what the thrill is of watching Bono. I think it must be something along the lines of . . . those guys who jump off tall buildings in New York with a few plastic bags as parachutes." — Bono

Comments: U2 play their 10th concert at the Bell Centre and their 18th overall show in Montreal.

Win and Régine from Arcade Fire - who are at the show - get tonight’s “Beautiful Day” namecheck. Which will also later inspire an Arcade Fire snippet of “Everything Now” during “Vertigo.”

“The Americans have the same problem with guns as the Irish have with alcohol… as in what problem?!” says MacPhisto before “Acrobat” in his most scathing speech on the United States yet.

It’s the third straight show with the same set, but there was one major change in the production. The American flag that normally hangs behind the stage during “American Soul” is not used tonight and instead the Canadian flag is shown on the video screen.
