"I think this record is just as innovative as Pop, it's just that the thing we're pushing to the forefront is the chemistry of the band playing together, and I think that is why people are referring back to earlier projects." — Edge, on All That You Can't Leave Behind

Comments: U2 tape a performance for the MTV/VH-1 React Now charity concert to raise money for Hurricane Katrina relief efforts. The performance is taped after their duet with Mary J. Blige for a separate charity concert, and will air a day later. The band play again inside an empty arena, though this performance includes the full Vertigo lighting production. Bono changes lyrics, singing "All you K-Marters / All you Americans" in place of the "daughters of Zion / Abraham sons" couplet. Bono also sports a new headband -- it says HELP on it, rather than the COEXIST logo.
