Fans Start Receiving 2020 U2.com Fan Club Gift

This week, fans who renewed their U2.com fan club subscription for 2020 began receiving their copies of the concert DVD U2 eXPERIENCE + iNNOCENCE – LIVE IN BERLIN. The film was directed by Matt Askem and previously released for digital viewing on the band’s website on March 14, 2020. The gift also includes a booklet of exclusive photos, taken by tour photographer Ross Stewart. Shaughn McGrath, U2’s longtime graphic designer, produced the booklet with creative direction by Gavin Friday.

 

Adam Featured In Phil Lynott Documentary

Earlier this week, it was revealed that Phil Lynott: Songs For While I’m Away, the previously announced documentary about the Thin Lizzy frontman, will be released this fall in theaters in Ireland, with a worldwide release to follow. The film will feature interviews with several musicians who knew or were influenced by Lynott. U2 bassist Adam Clayton is among those who shared their thoughts. Others who contributed include Thin Lizzy’s Scott Gorham, Eric Bell, and Darren Wharton, Metallica’s James Hetfield, Huey Lewis, Suzi Quatro and others.

 

Kelly Clarkson Releases Cover Of “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For” To Honor Black Lives Matter Protestors

Grammy award-winner and multi-platinum artist Kelly Clarkson released this week a cover of U2’s “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For” to honor Black Lives Matter protestors around the world. Clarkson has sold more than 25 million records since first breaking through as the winner of the first season of “American Idol” in 2002. Her hits are regulars on the top of country, pop, dance and adult contemporary charts around the world. A link to the performance on YouTube is here.

 

U2 Photo Among Those Auctioned By Photographer Mark Seliger

Photographer Mark Seliger is auctioning off 25 photos in an event called RadArt4Aid.  Proceeds from each auctioned photo will go to the charity of each subject’s choosing. The photo was taken of the band in New York City in 2000. U2 have selected Pieta, an organization in Ireland that supports those who have been affected by suicide, self-harm, suicidal thoughts or have been bereaved by suicide. The auction, held online by Christie’s, ended today, with the winning bid being $5,250.
