"[Madonna's] music is a little off the shelf for me, but it's almost like the lack of personality in the music heightens the personality in her voice."

U2's Dublin exhibition center takes a step backward

Planned U2 Museum/Exhibit Hall

The Dublin City Council has told U2 to start all over with its plans to develop a museum and exhibition center in the Hanover Quay docklands area of the city.

According to the Irish Times, the council expressed "serious concerns" about the band's plans and the potential impact on the area and its residents. The facility's height, in particular, seems to be a sore point. It's billed as a three-story building, but the second floor is double the normal height, making it as big as a four-story building, as the Times reports:

"This could have a negative impact on a nearby residential building which was currently under construction, the council said, and could in future block natural light from these homes and 'will appear quite foreboding and visually uncompromising' to future residents."

U2 has six months to resubmit its plans, after which the council will issue a final decision.

The band's plans to develop the exhibition center on the site of its recording studio first came to light in late June.
