U2 will be participating in the annual Record Store Day this year with the release of a "Red Hill Mining Town" picture disk. The band hasn't announced this yet, but producer Steve Lillywhite tweeted a photo of the vinyl a little more than an hour ago.

Lillywhite's tweet simply says "First off the press...." A close look at the vinyl shows "Red Hill Mining Town / 2017 Mix" on side A, along with a sticker showing the Record Store Day logo. (Lillywhite didn't say or show what's on side B.) The vinyl itself is a picture taken from one of the promotional photo shoots atop the Hotel Rosslyn in downtown Los Angeles, right near the spot where U2 shot the music video for "Where The Streets Have No Name."

Record Store Day happens on April 22 this year. The official RSD web site doesn't seem to mention this U2 release yet, but you can find a list of participating stores (and plenty of other info). U2's most recent Record Store Day participation was in 2015 with a release of a limited edition Songs Of Innocence vinyl album.

Here's the tweet and photo from Steve Lillywhite: UPDATE: Lillywhite has since deleted his tweet, but the image can be seen below.
