"Our job, if anything, is to connect in a way, to express something that's personal to us that other people can relate to." — Edge

U2 took the stage in Paris for the second of four nights with some firsts for the European leg of the tour. John Lennon’s "Mother" was used as a snippet for the first time this leg of the tour during "I Will Follow," and "All Because Of You" took the place of "Red Flag Day" in the fourth song spot.

After singing a bit of Kraftwerk’s "Hall Of Mirrors," MacPhisto took aim at Sweden’s national election and the gains made by far-right party saying, "I didn't know how much I liked the Swedish. Tall. Blonde. Blue-eyed. Boring. But now, it appears the Swedes are beginning to discover their Aryan potential. Oh yes. Ak-ak-Åkesson. Jimmie Åkesson! I like him. He’s done so well in the election today. I love elections. I love balloons. I love parties that get out of hand. France, you disappointed my favorite little Marie LePen. I'm like the father she never had. And now she's had to change the name of her party. Some people don't know that they don't like Jews or Blacks. I told them you can hide in plain sight. Because it's when you don't believe that I exist, that's when I do my best work."

A young boy in a black top hat was brought up on stage for "City Of Blinding Lights."
