"People would not react if I went out and carried on like Elvis Presley or Mick Jagger or David Bowie. People do react if I go out and carry on like Bono. And I like that." — Bono

U2 at the Grammys: Re-cap

U2 made three separate appearances at tonight's 60th annual Grammys ceremony:

  • First, Bono and The Edge performed in Kendrick Lamar's opening medley, which also featured a cameo by Dave Chapelle.
  • Next, we saw the band give a rousing performance of "Get Out Of Your Own Way" on a barge in the Hudson River, floating near The Statue of Liberty. Rolling Stone sums it up nicely (see official video below).
  • Last, Bono and The Edge returned at the end of the broadcast to present Bruno Mars with the Album of the Year award for 24K Magic.

U2 hold the record as the band with the most Grammys, winning 22 out of the 47 for which they were nominated.
