"U2 is not a punk band, but there's this kind of violence present in our music."

The Joshua Tree Tour 2017 kicked off Tuesday in Latin America with the first of two nights in Mexico City.

As expected, it was a very emotional performance. Bono talked several times in Spanish, pleasing the audience. He also mentioned the recent earthquakes in Mexico, which left more than 300 victims. He thanked all the people who helped in this tragedy. Before the show, it was announced that U2 will help 16,000 people affected by the earthquakes in Mexico. The donation to an emergency relief fund is part of the shows' earnings and it will provide 2,000 temporary shelters.

During "Ultraviolet", Salma Hayek and Frida Kahlo were some of the luminous icons. And the 'grand finale' was the tour debut of "Spanish Eyes," which ended the show.
