"There are still some wild, unorthodox, unpredictable, furry animals to go in this zoo." — Edge, on the Zoo TV tour

Music Rising Launches New Site And Shirts For Disaster Relief

Music Rising Shirts

Music Rising has launched an updated website, MusicRising.com, and fundraising initiative to help schools in the United States and U.S. territories replace instruments lost due to devastating fires and hurricanes over the past few months. New, limited-edition shirts with the Music Rising logo originally designed by The Edge and William Cathcart are now available in Music Rising’s online shop. The tagline under the trademark wings now states “Instruments for Disaster Relief” for the new campaign. All funds raised by the shirts will support Music Rising.

Music Rising began in 2005 when Edge, producer Bob Ezrin and Gibson Guitar’s Henry Juszkiewicz joined together to help people in the Gulf Coast who lost their instruments after Hurricane Katrina. Since then, Music Rising has helped nearly 3,000 people and raised over $5 million, helping school programs across the country affected by natural disasters.

The Edge said, “Music is such a great communicator. It breaks down linguistic barriers, cultural barriers, it basically reaches out. That’s what virtuosity is all about.”
