There's a lot going on, but it's not really on the surface. So in this instance, I think this song was sort of tailor-made for me, in that it's a noncommunication.-- Edge, on "Numb," 2002

LISTEN: U2 appears on Kendrick Lamar's new track, 'XXX'

We finally have some answers to those questions we (and others) have been asking for a few days now: U2 does appear on "XXX," one of the new tracks on Kendrick Lamar's new album, DAMN, and it's definitely a new performance and not just a sample of a U2 song.

The album is hitting the online stores and streaming sites tonight, so you can hear it for yourself. The track is embedded below, and U2/Bono comes in at about the 2:25 mark singing what sounds like

It's not a place
This country is to be a sound
Of drum and bass
You close your eyes to look around

Note: There's plenty of NSFW language throughout the song and the Spotify player doesn't seem to let you skip to specific parts of the song.

The entire band is credited, so we suspect that's Edge on piano, Larry on drums and Adam playing bass on the latter (U2) portion of the song. But there's nothing in the album booklet to confirm those suspicions.

What do you think of it? Let us know in the poll below.
