"There are still some wild, unorthodox, unpredictable, furry animals to go in this zoo." — Edge, on the Zoo TV tour

Bono & Edge perform at Dave Kavanagh funeral in Dublin

Bono and The Edge were on hand Monday to pay their respects to Irish music luminary Dave Kavanagh, who died last week at age 62 after battling cancer. Bono's wife, Ali, was there along with the band's longtime friend and collaborative partner, Gavin Friday.

Kavanagh was U2's first booking agent and also repped artists such as Thin Lizzy, The Boomtown Rats and others. He also managed Clannad for a time.

According to several Irish media reports (like Hot Press), the funeral service ended with Bono and Edge singing "Love Is All We Have Left," the opening track on Songs Of Experience. It's the first time that song has been performed in public.

Bono and Edge are expected to make their way to Montreal next, where U2's Experience + Innocence tour rehearsals are due to begin later this week. (We're told Adam Clayton is already in town.) The band will be in Montreal for a couple weeks before relocating to Tulsa, Oklahoma, for final rehearsals at the end of the month. The tour begins on May 2.
