"I think this record is just as innovative as Pop, it's just that the thing we're pushing to the forefront is the chemistry of the band playing together, and I think that is why people are referring back to earlier projects." — Edge, on All That You Can't Leave Behind

"The trend of the day was recording studios without any room reverb or ambience. The playing room at Windmill Lane was designed to be totally dead, and you can hear it on the drums. It wasn't until the 'Boy' sessions that we figured out that we had to pull the durm kit into the entrance hall, after the receptionist had gone hoe, to get a decent drum sound. With its three storey stairwell and stone and tiled surfaces, it was a great live room. Many bands came to Windmill Lane looking for that big U2 drum sound only to stracth their heads when they heard a drum sound more like Steely Dan coming back off tape." - The Edge, Boy 2008

Let’s go

It’s cold outside
It gets so hot in here
But the boys and girls collide
To the music in my ear

I hear the children crying
And I know it’s time to go
I hear the children crying
Take me home

Oh, painted face
And I know that we haven’t long
We thought that we have the answers
It was the questions we had wrong

I hear the children crying
And I know it’s time to go
I hear the children crying
Take me home

Sad song, sad song, sad song, sad song

We’ll stop
Cabaret

Sad song, sad song, sad song, sad song

Here we go again
Wake up now

In the love, in soul
Reach in

Call out your name
Call out in hate
Call out in shame
Call out
You better call out
You, you call out
