It's very clear in our music that we don't have any answers, but that the questions are at least worth asking. 'I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For.' How much more clear can you make it? -- Bono

I wouldn’t call myself an O.G. U2 fan, but I’ve been around for a while. I’m forever grateful that they climbed through my bedroom window—in the metaphorical sense—and led me out into a bigger, brighter, darker, clearer version of the world than I had known before. They were the first band I discovered on my own, without the advice of my older brothers. Only a few years older than me, they had the distinction of being neither American nor English, and they were MINE. I still feel that way. As an alleged grownup, I’ve been a graphic designer, a freelance journalist, and a writing instructor. I now work in communications for a nonprofit organization in the New York suburbs. I live with my husband and dog, and we’ve just sent our kid off to college (yikes). I’ve published a few stories and poems, and in a weird way, U2 haunts all of them. I am beyond fortunate to have grown up with this band, and I always look forward to hearing the next thing they want to tell us. And the next.
