With over 6,000 items in our news archives, it's a safe bet you haven't read all of them! This month, we take a look back at 1982. U2 Finally Speak Out About Their Rumored Faith, CCM Magazine Bono, who has read both the positive and negative reviews [of October], finds it interesting few people have noticed what he is singing about. If critics want him to stop going after the big subject or the deep emotion, though, they can forget it. For that matter, Bono said, if another crowd of people wants him to only go after the "safe Christian subjects" and the "safe Christian crowd," they can forget that, too. Pluck of the Irish, Trouser Press Bono: "I have close friends who said, 'Heard your new album; sorry, but I don't like it,' and then two weeks later they're saying they love it and can't listen to Boy. It seems to me that people who become involved with Boy find it hard to accept October, and people who didn't like or didn't hear Boy go nuts about October. I can't figure it out." Adam is, at 22, the eldest of the four and the one most taken with the rock star trip. He loves parties, oysters and the backstage attention, though he is as honestly likeable as the others. He is the only one who is not an avowed Christian… Only Adam is much given to dressing up; Bono's jeans and the Edge's pale blue cardigan are commendably dowdy, though they hold no special grudge against fashion.
