U2 spec-tacular is here
The Mirror,
February 21, 2008
They looked more like the Blues Brothers than rock superstars -- but U2 were back to their larger-than-life best last night as they launched their spectacular 3D movie.
The Dublin band brought Parnell Street to a standstill when they hit the town with the U2 WAGs -- and pulled on their matching customised 3D specs. Bono, 47, led the band on a walkabout as more than 1,000 fans screamed and cheered to salute the opening of U2 3D at the Jameson Dublin Film Festival. And the cheeky frontman told the Irish Daily Mirror he loved seeing the group blown up to new greatness on the big screen. He said: "People may think we have big enough heads already -- but this is really taking it to the next level." When asked which of his 3D features he would most cringe at, Bono replied: "Well, I think you can guess one feature that I'm very proud of -- so I definitely wouldn't be changing that!" His wife Ali bit her tongue about the brag but did admit: "I think the guys all look brilliant in 3D, although I see Bono like that every day in the flesh." © The Mirror, 2008. |
