U2 Director Chosen for Oscar BroadcastHamish Hamilton to Direct 82nd Annual Academy Awards

It was announced this morning that the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences has chosen Hamish Hamilton to direct this year's broadcast, which will air on ABC March 7. The show's producers indicate that Hamilton was selected for his innovative use of current technology and cameras, in addition to his gift for capturing the "emotional elements of performance." U2 fans know him for his works U2: Elevation 2001 Live from Boston and U2: Go Home Live from Slane Castle.
