U2 Conference Will Get LoudMovie double-feature to kick-off events Friday night
@U2,
September 06, 2009
Did you catch the news on the U2 conference blog? There'll be a U2 movie double-feature on Friday night, October 2, to kick-off U2: The Hype & The Feedback -- the academic conference happening in Durham, NC. First up will be a showing of Meet Me In The Sound, a documentary about the U2 fan community worldwide, followed by a showing of It Might Get Loud, featuring The Edge, Jimmy Page, and Jack White. There will also be a pre-movie mixer/reception where you can meet some of the conference speakers and attendees. All of this will take place at the Carolina Theatre in downtown Durham. If you register for the full conference, this Friday night event is included and you're all set. See you there. If you can't make the full conference, you can purchase tickets just for Friday night's festivities for $25. Here's the registration form. And by the way, today (Monday, September 7) is the last day for early-bird registration discounts on the conference. So, to sum up: Reception and movie double-feature Friday night. U2 conference on Saturday and Sunday. @U2 movie night on Sunday night with U2 3D and Neil McCormick. (Not to mention that little U2 concert Saturday night in Raleigh.) We could be talking Greatest. U2 Weekend. Ever. |
