Spider-Man Finally Premieres on Broadway
@U2,
June 14, 2011
The stars were out in force for the opening performance of Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark on Broadway Tuesday night. And the press was, too -- lined up along the red carpet to catch Bono, Edge, the Spider-Man cast and crew, and anyone else heading in to see the most expensive production in Broadway history. Ousted director Julie Taymor was there, as were celebrities including Andrew Lloyd Webber, Steve Martin, Matt Damon, Cindy Crawford and countless others. President Bill Clinton showed up and took a seat inside right next to Bono. (As Presidents do....) There's a collection of photos from inside and out the theater on Yahoo News. Entertainment Tonight aired this videoclip of the red carpet arrivals, which includes some comments from Bono and others.
And earlier tonight, Bono and Edge appeared on NBC Nightly News. Anchor Brian Williams visited the set on Monday to tape the interview. The news piece is embedded below.
