Recapping U2's Rock Hall concert rehearsal

@U2, October 30, 2009
By: Matt McGee

(SPOILER ALERT) U2 has finished a fairly lengthy (1-2 hours) rehearsal at Madison Square Garden in advance of their appearance at tonight's Rock Hall 25th Anniversary concert. We've had a staffer at MSG today (and will have one at the show tonight), and for those of you not following our updates on Twitter, here's what you missed:

  • U2 and Bruce Springsteen rehearsed "I Still Haven't Found..." together.
  • Patti Smith also joined U2 and Springsteen on stage, but we don't know the song(s).
  • U2 and the Black Eyed Peas rehearsed "Where Is The Love?" together.
  • U2 and Mick Jagger rehearsed together, but we don't know what song(s).

We also know that U2 are scheduled as the last performer tonight and should do about 12 songs or so. The scheduled has them performing at about 10 pm, but much like last night's concert, there's a good chance earlier performers will go long and U2 won't take the stage until later. We're also hopeful to have some live audio from U2's performance via our 1000mikes channel.

And one last reminder: the Rock Hall concerts are scheduled to be aired on HBO on November 29 as a four-hour special, so it won't be the entire set of performances from both nights.
