Edge's Mom, Gwenda, Has Passed Away

For the second time in less than a year, one of U2 has lost a mom. Edge's mother, Gwenda Evans, died Monday in Dublin after a short illness, according to The Sun. Edge's cousin, Ciara, who is Gwenda's niece, was on Twitter earlier today responding to a few fan inquiries, and also asking everyone to respect the family's privacy.
Gwenda did an interview in 2008 with a small newspaper in Ireland. She also spoke to Jim Henke back in 1983 for a Rolling Stone article about the band. You may recall that Adam Clayton lost his mom last August. Please join all of us at @U2 in sending prayers and sympathy to Edge and the entire Evans family.
