Bono to perform at Haiti benefit concert (Edge, too)

The Associated Press is reporting that Bono will perform at this week's Haiti benefit concert/telethon. George Clooney, who's helping organize the event, apparently mentioned Bono's name while speaking to the AP during tonight's Golden Globe Awards. The benefit is scheduled for next Friday, January 22, and will air on many TV and cable networks. Clooney will co-host it with Wyclef Jean. In a separate interview earlier, Clooney said the performances would be available for sale on iTunes after the benefit concert. By the way, Edge and wife Morleigh were in attendance at the Golden Globes, but U2's "Winter" did not win the Best Original Song award. Update, January 18: The web site Zap2It was on the red carpet Sunday night and reports that Edge also says he'll be taking part in the telethon/benefit on Friday night.
