Dear Mark: Your guesses are close, but you might be surprised to know that the country with the largest per capita U2 fan base has the following characteristics: It is 7/10 the size of the Mall in Washington D.C. The difference between its highest point and lowest is 56 meters. It is less than half a kilometer in area. With nearly 2% of the population being religious U2 fans (in this case, both religious and U2 fans), no other country comes close to Vatican City and its 900 inhabitants. If this same average were used in the U.S., there would be 5.6 million U2 fanatics. Imagine how early the General Admission line would form if that were true. My advice, try and keep U2 a secret. Shhh. And to the best of my knowledge, South America is not actually a country.

I would love to have an autobiography of any of them -- especially one written by Ali about her life as Bono's wife -- maybe written after their children are grown -- something to look forward to in the future. I know that Larry keeps things, but he seems like a private person who probably wouldn't write an autobiography. Well, Ali's would be a best seller. Do you think there is a possibility? Dear Mary: I imagine anything is a possibility, but it seems to me that all four of them (and their better halves) are a bit on the private side to ever write an autobiography. I could see Ali writing about her antinuclear efforts, but not about her life as Mrs. Bono.
From: Natalia I was thrilled when I opened up the cover sleeve of my limited edition U2 album Best of 1990-2000 and saw a picture of Larry smiling! I just wondered what you thought of this rare occurance and if you had any thoughts on what might have caused this mysterious picture. Thanks, you rock! Dear Natalia: I guess it's okay for me to answer this now. I know the picture you speak of, and a lot of fans have emailed after seeing the same photo in the CD sleeve. Great picture. Larry fought long and hard to keep that photo out of the collage. Everyone was reviewing photos for the sleeve a couple months ago, right after the video shoot for "Electrical Storm." Larry was still delirious from that beach experience, but was getting upset with everyone's insistence on including a happy photo in the CD booklet. The reason it ended up in there? We made a bet on whether or not Samantha Morton would call him within two weeks of the video shoot. She didn't. I won. Photo in. End of story.
