Answer Guy: Are there not categories of No. 1 U2 fans?
@U2,

![]() From: Fran Are there not categories of #1 fans at Principle? I would like to apply for the job of #1 Fan with an Unhealthy (though non-threatening) Obsession. Yes I have the DVDs, CDs etc. But I also have the Bluegrass Tribute Album and "Strung Out on U2." My kids are named Quillan Bono and Aislinn Gloria. Let's be systematic about this, eh? Dear Fran: Yes, there are indeed categories of fans at U2 headquarters. These categories are constantly being analyzed and revised to keep pace with today's changing fans. Here are some of the categories which were recently added during the last update:
As for your application, I'm sorry to say there's already someone holding down the "#1 Fan with an Unhealthy (though non-threatening) Obsession" title. However, I see in parentheses that this fan was recently spotted at a Henry Rollins spoken word show, so your chances appear bright for a promotion.
From: The INXS Girl I've read that Bono had a special show in loving memory of Michael Hutchence in 1997, but i cannot find any information (like videos or any records) on that. Can you please shed some light on that mysterious concert, Dear The INXS Girl: There was no "special show," but at many of the PopMart shows after Hutch's death, there were tributes paid to him during various songs of U2's concert. I'd suggest heading over to U2tours.com and reading up on some of the concert reviews and recaps from the shows beginning in late November 1997. PS - are you THE INXS girl?
From: Heather I found this song that said it was Bono and Enya. I wasn't completly sure if it was him singinig or not. It said that the title was in a lifetime, but i'm not sure if that was right, of course i've never heard of the song so I wouldn't know. Dear Heather: The song is called "In a Lifetime," and it appeared on an album called Macalla in 1985 by an Irish group called Clannad. Bono is, indeed, singing on the track. Enya had been a member of Clannad between 1980-82, but was not in the group when Bono recorded "In a Lifetime" with them. However, the remaining members of Clannad at that time included 3 of Enya's brothers and sisters (Maire Brennan, Ciaran Brennan and Paul Brennan). Great song.
From: (no name given) I have read that Bono's words have been censored on television and radio for using the f-word. Is any of this true? When did that happen? I'm sure it was Bono's way of showing his strong feelings about something but it certainly was not smart to say that word publically. Dear (no name given): Well, I hate to be the one to burst bubbles but yer man has a bit of a potty mouth and has been censored many times when being interviewed or appearing on TV/radio for some reason. Probably the most famous was at the 1994 Grammy Awards when he accepted the award for Best Alternative Album (Zooropa) and in his speech said "We shall continue to abuse our position and f--k up the mainstream." BLEEP! If my memory is correct, it actually aired live on the East Coast, but was censored on the delayed showings out West. More recently, Bono accepted the Golden Globe award for "The Hands That Built America" by saying "This is really, really...f---ing brilliant!" Needless to say, the ABC-TV censors will be on red alert next weekend during the Academy Awards.
