Adam Clayton: New Album Recording is 'Coming To An End'

Appears on 98FM Radio to Launch Walk In My Shoes 2014 Campaign

@U2, April 30, 2014
By: Matt McGee

Adam Clayton took part in the launch of the 2014 Walk In My Shoes campaign Wednesday in Dublin -- the third straight year he's been involved in the effort that raises funds and awareness for young adult mental health services. Part of his time today was spent doing an interview on 98FM's Ray Foley Show -- an interview that began with a couple questions about what the band is doing at the moment.

You're at home at the moment, are you?

I am, yes. I'm just back from doing some recording. I think ... there's been a lot of recording going on, but we're coming to an end, which is good.

Before we get into the Walk In My Shoes thing then, is this for a new album? Can we finally get our hopes up, yeah?

Yeah. I can't say when we're gonna be releasing it, but I can say we're hoping to have it finished before the end of the summer, which would be great. We're very excited about it, and we also want to get it out as quickly as possible. But I don't want to pre-empt anything until I know it's actually finished.

You can hear the whole interview (it's short) below. Adam is also due to appear on RTE-TV's The Late Late Show this Friday to discuss Walk In My Shoes, but it's pretty likely that host Ryan Tubridy will also ask what U2 is up to at the moment. (Thx to Harry K. for the tip.)
