Collectors' F.A.Q.
Question
From: Mark Van W., Denver
I wanted to address something specific regarding the recent
feature on UNDER A BLOOD RED SKY: Is it true that CURRENT, store-bought
European copies of the CD would include the unedited Electric
Co.? I am interested in tracking it down for the performance,
and not so much (the vinyl) for its collectibility, and was
considering mail ordering from the UK.
Peter Hanning: I know one of the
older German pressings with catalog number 610559/CID113 has
the unedited version of the song. The French version, catalog
number 818008-2, has the edited version. I'm not sure about
the current re-mastered version bearing a catalog number of
IMCD xxx (was it 248?) but I would think it is edited. IM stands
for Island Masters Series, by the way. It should be clearly
stickered as such. I hope this helps you in some way.
Chris Nilsen: I don't know if the
current euro issue CD would be unedited. I think the editing
was mostly done in the USA, and some foreign pressings may be
unedited. I have heard that some pressings have a differently
edited version, but I don't have enough foreign issue CDs to
check that against.
