U2 COLLECTORS' GUIDE

Collectors' F.A.Q.

Question

From: Pat R., Nenagh

I've just noticed from your price guide that the limited release of U2's first single "Three" (limited to 1,000 copies) is priced at between $500 and $800. Have you any idea as to how many of these are still in circulation?

Chris Nilsen: Good question, and impossible to answer really. I would guess that many are still in Ireland and in the hands of people who are not on the Internet or involved in collecting or selling records. They don't turn up for public sale very often from what I've seen. I would also guess that some percentage of them have been lost or destroyed over the years. It's anybody's guess as to the number that have survived, but whatever that number is they rarely turn up in great condition.
