Collectors' F.A.Q.

Question

From D.B., Charlotte

I have today found the following: Please could you shead some light on this item: 12" White Label - New Years Eve (F Corsten Mix) and New Years Dub . Mix 1 + 2 (Musique) Made In England. Desc- it is a great electrorave-type remix of New Years Day... But I can find no reference to it on the Internet. Any ideas where this might have come from?

Peter Longworth: Ferry Corsten re-mixed New Years Day for U2 at the end of 1999 intending to release it around the time of the Millennium. The band didn't like the mixes so the project was shelved. Esprit (a record dealer in the UK) obtained, and sold, a 4 mix Island studio CDR for £350. Since the sale a lot of 12" white label bootlegs have appeared around the world. For the record the mixes on the CDR are : Vocal radio Dub 3:49, Vocal Extended Dub 7:50, Less Vocal Extended Dub 7:50 and Non-Vocal Extended Dub 7:50.
