Collectors' F.A.Q.

Question

From: Tim, Perth, Australia

I noticed a 12" "Mofo" in a local store today which really caught my eye - it had the Explicit remix on it - but they wanted 45$ Australian. The only thing was there was a slight rip on the outer sleeve of it - so I was wondering if it was worth getting as $45 still seems a lot. Great idea to have a site like this - thanks.

Francesco Rastelli: If the record you are talking about is the one with withe labels, with stamp writings only on one side, and with music only on that side and with the writing MOFO3 on the internal part of the vinyl, yes it's worth, actually it's worth more if there is also the promo shit inside the cover -- the value increases.

Peter Longworth: If its' catalogue number (scratched/printed in the vinyl in the run-off area) is 12MOFO3 then it's well worth $45 Aus. In the UK this promo is advertised for sale at between £60 and £100. This promo came from Island in a plain, white, die-cut sleeve. The more common versions are 1-sided but there are a very few 2-sided mispresses (same track on both sides) around which command prices of up to £150 in the UK.

"We can write songs about God and have them right next to songs about girls. I think we weave God, sex and politics together in a way that's very unusual to white music."
