Collectors' F.A.Q.

Question

From: Ray D., Leeds, UK

I own a copy of the original 7" single 'Another Day'. It is on black vinyl with orange and red (sunset) CBS label. However my copy does not include a postcard. Could you please quote me the value of this item as I cannot find a price anywhere?

Chris Nilsen: If your copy has a UKTM# printed on the label then you have an early or original pressing which has more value. Some of the originals included a postcard which would make it even more valuable. If there is not a UKTM#, then it's a reissue and probably worth a similar amount to the red label pressing.

From: Ajay

My copy of 7" Another Day with P/S has an orange and yellow sleeve with a cat. no. of UKTM No.B81 8092. Is this worth more than the red label version, if so, how much more?

Chris Nilsen: That's probably an original pressing. It is certainly worth more than the reissues. How much more would depend on what someone else is willing to pay and the condition of the record and sleeve.
